President Sargsyan participated at the inauguration of Armenia’s Football Academy located in Avan administrative community

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan participated at the inauguration of Armenia’s Football Academy located in Avan administrative community.
Earlier, by the Presidential decree the UEFA President Michel Platini was awarded the Order of Honor for his contribution to the strengthening of cooperation in the area of sport and significant input to the development of junior football in the Republic of Armenia. The award was handed to Michel Platini by the President of Armenia at the inauguration ceremony for the Football Academy.
In Avan, the President of Armenia participated also to the unveiling of the Narek memorial, dedicated to Grigor Narekatsi’s Book of Lamentations. Construction and beautification of the memorial, located in Narek neighborhood, started in 2009 on the territory previously occupied by the unauthorized constructions.
